Frequently Asked Questions
General
We believe that each project deserves our full attention, in order to ensure we deliver excellence. Therefore, the only way to keep our promise is to schedule each project on a first come first serve basis. We know this may not be suitable for everyone, so we’re sorry if we can’t turn your project around in time. Don’t let this put you off though, as we may be free right now! Please get in touch and we’ll let you know when we could start working on your project.
Websites vary greatly in price, based on many factors. Like everything, you get what you pay for. It’s the same in the web design industry. We consider ourselves to be at the forefront of WordPress design and development. Therefore, our prices are set inline with the quality that we deliver. Our prices start at £10,000, ensuring that we are taking on projects that are suited to our level of expertise.
Every website project is completely different, which makes answering this question very difficult. A fairly straightforward website could take 4 weeks, whereas a more complex website could take up to 16 weeks, sometimes longer. Once we understand the full requirements of the project, we can provide a more calculated estimate of deadlines.
Deadlines are never 100% accurate though, as it’s impossible to predict potential challenges and roadblocks along the way. We are not the type of agency who will scrimp on quality to hit an estimated deadline (unless it has been carefully agreed and plenty of notice has been given to deliver the project on a specific date, so as to align with other events).
Web Design
We use Figma to design all of our websites, as we believe it’s the ultimate web design tool. Our Figma design process consists of meticulous wireframing, pixel-perfect UI/UX exploration and seamless collaboration.

As we use Figma to design all of our websites, we simply provide you with a preview link, so that you can view the designs anywhere you like. These links may offer interactive elements and prototyping features, so that you feel as if you are interacting with a real website. You can also leave feedback comments directly on any part of the designs, which helps speed up amendments and improve communication.
Web Development
WordPress requires a few languages to be used harmoniously to achieve the best results. WordPress websites have traditionally been developed mainly with PHP, although over the last 5 years, WordPress has been slowly transitioning to JavaScript and React, with its main focus now on the Gutenberg Block Editor and Full Site Editor. The main languages/libraries that we use are as follows:
PHP
JavaScript
React
JSON
CSS
SASS
Tailwind
Of course, we understand the importance of making each and every website we build as accessible to everyone as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as much as we can with every project, although in some cases we cannot meet all criteria.
Yes and no. For many years we have harnessed the power of ACF and taken it to its absolute limits. We have always been huge fans of ACF and there’s no denying how amazing it is. However, we are now trying to move away from ACF and lean on the core features of the Block Editor whenever possible. If we can use core blocks, we will always opt for that over ACF. We also will always opt for building our own custom blocks over ACF, time and budget permitting. However, if a specific block is not available and budgets do not allow for building it from scratch, we may opt for using ACF to build a custom block. This is always a last resort but we are not ashamed by any means to use it. ACF is a fantastic tool to get the job done without affecting the editing experience too much to be concerned with. If your website currently uses ACF heavily, we will discuss the options of converting it to core blocks or perhaps a combination of both. Rest assured we are experts at using ACF and we will find the best solution for you.
WordPress
We love WordPress for many reasons. Here are just 5 benefits to using WordPress:
- Ease of Use: One of the biggest advantages of WordPress is its user-friendly interface. You don’t need advanced technical skills to create and manage a website.
- Flexibility and Customisation: WordPress provides a vast library of themes and plugins that allow you to customise the design and functionality of your website. You can choose from thousands of themes to give your site a unique look, and plugins enable you to add various features and functionalities without needing to code from scratch.
- SEO-Friendly: WordPress is inherently designed to be search engine-friendly. Its clean code structure, customisable permalinks and SEO plugins make it easier to optimise your website for search engines.
- Scalability: Whether you’re starting with a simple blog or planning to build a complex e-commerce site, WordPress can scale to accommodate your needs. As your website grows, you can easily add more content, pages and features without significant disruptions.
- Active Community and Support: WordPress has a massive and active community of developers, designers and users. This means you can find a wealth of resources, tutorials, forums and documentation online.
Yes, all of our code follows best practices and the WordPress coding standards. We ensure our code is optimised, free from bloat and validated to industry standards.
No, all of our websites are built using the WordPress Block Editor. We do not use any third party page builder plugins. However, we do sometimes use plugins that provide additional features and blocks to the Block Editor.
By default, we give our clients a custom user role that gives them access to edit everything they need. If for whatever reason that isn’t given them enough access we can look at increasing certain permissions. If it’s vital that you have administrator access, we can discuss this with you, but it means we cannot be liable for any damages caused to the website by misuse of the permissions or compromised user accounts. We will also require that two factor authentication is set up.
Hosting & SSL
We use 100% renewable eco-friendly cloud hosting, based in the UK. Our hosting provider boasts 99.995% uptime, automatic backups and free SSL certificates.
Of course, your hosting plan includes automatic daily backups with 14 restore points, including the website files and database. Additional restore points are available on request and at additional costs.
Yes, we provide free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates that automatically renew. You can opt for a premium SSL certificate at an extra cost if you need additional features like warranty protection, trust seals and vulnerability assessment.
Our most basic cloud hosting plan is £33+vat per month. If you want your own isolated server with its own dedicated resources, our costs vary depending on the size of the server you need. We will assess the size of your website and expected traffic to provide you with a bespoke quote.
